In interview with Qodsna:
American activist says US suppresses voices critical of Zionist regime

Cindy Sheehan, American activist, believes that “there is a general crackdown in all levels of society here in the US against free speech if we are critical of Israel.”
Tehran, Qodsna - Executive producer and host of Cindy Sheehan's soapbox said in an exclusive interview with the Qods News Agency that “the crackdowns on university campuses, in my opinion, is just another event that is appalling and the violence is unnecessary. The US has been going down the path of suppressing free speech for quite some time. The good news is, it seems like the US Empire is collapsing with a doddering fool as the president.”
Asked about the impact of student protest on US policy towards the Zionist regime, she noted, “At their present level, the student protests are just isolated on a handful of campuses. We've seen here in the US that since the Vietnam war protests, none have been successful in fundamentally and permanently affected government policy i.e.: anti-Iraq war protests; Occupy Wall Street; anti-gun protests; environmental protests like Standing Rock. So, at this moment, no. I don't think they will change things.”
As to the international aftermath of crackdown on student protests for the US administration, Sheehan said, “As I have observed, crackdown against free speech and freedom of peacefully protest has been ongoing for many years, globally. I think the Western powers like the US, Great Britain, Germany, and France have been particularly brutal against any kind of dissent that is against ruling-class propaganda. It started globally, especially, during covid.”
Pointing to the American people’s opinion on the US-Zionist relationship, she noted, “I observe that more people here are getting fed up with funding Israel and Ukraine. Gas prices, housing, and food are rising astronomically and civil society is just now starting to wonder how things can be so economically awful here in the states, but hundreds of billions of dollars are going to support foreign wars and foreign countries. Israel has cheaper university and universal healthcare, and, here many seniors, young people, and families are suffering financially and are beginning to think the foreign/war aid could be better spent here and the world would be a safer, more peaceful, place.”
