Palestinian issue became Muslims' first issue thank to Iran's support

The Palestinian representative regretted that the upheavals in the Muslim community have kept Muslims from the Palestinian issue, adding such states as Saudi “would rather send fighters to Palestine instead of training terrorists.”

Iran-based Society in Defense of the Palestinian Nation (SDPN) staged a panel discussion on the role of mosques in promoting the regional resistance and Islamic awakening on Tuesday.

During the meeting, Islamic Jihad movement’s representative in Tehran, Naser Abu Sharif touched on the status of Aqsa mosque in Islam and said the Palestinian people have never raised the flag of surrender to the Zionist enemy.

He said the Palestinian people have fulfilled their duty, adding it was time for the Muslim community to fulfill its part. He also noted that the Palestinian issue turned into the primary issue of the Muslim community thank to Iran's support.

The Palestinian representative regretted that the upheavals in the Muslim community have kept Muslims from the Palestinian issue, adding such states as Saudi “would rather send fighters to Palestine instead of training terrorists.”

“Hundreds of billion dollars have been spent on Arab armies while they have failed to spend even one dollar on Quds. If they spent the money on the Palestinian issue, we would have been witness to the liberation of Quds today,” Abu Sharif said, adding Palestinians need the help of Arab and Muslim nations.

The panel discussion was held on the anniversary of an arson attack by Zionist Israelis on the holy al-Aqsa mosque in the occupied al-Quds (‘Jerusalem’) in 1969.

The meeting also heard from SDPN founding member Hojjatoleslam Rahimian who said the holy Koran considers mosques as the front of purity and pure individuals.

The Al-Aqsa Mosque was burnt on August 21, 1969, by Israeli-Australian extremist, Michael Rohan, who set the mosque ablaze and the fires totally consumed the historic Salah Ed-Deen Bench, and the southeastern roof of the mosque.

1500 square/meters of the total 4400 square/meters of the mosque were burnt.
