Arab's enmity towards Iran, a historical crime

Hassanein Heikal, the prominent Egyptian politician-author said the era of Arabic peace was over and that the enmity of Arabs towards Iran was a historical crime.

Heikal touched on the Doha's summit of Arab leaders and said that if the Arab leaders stick to their hostile stance against Iran, they would commit a historical and strategic mistake.

"Iran is not our enemy. It is a neighbor and we are facing a Muslim nation which has an old history," he added.

Asked about an ICC warrant for the Sudanese President Umar Al-Bashir, Heikal said the decision was more like a pillage or assassination bid. He called the warrant as an insult to the whole Arab population.
