Hebrew media exposes the failure of Iron Dome

PIC:

Official data announced by the Spokesperson for the occupation army show that claims by the Hebrew media about the efficiency of Iron Dome anti-missiles system in intercepting rockets fired by al-Qassam Brigades and other Palestinian resistance factions.

While the Israeli journalists claimed that the Iron Dome succeeded to intercept a large number of the resistance missiles, the Israeli Army data showed that the ability of the Iron Dome did not exceed the half at the best.

In terms of figures, Haaretz newspaper reported on its website on Monday morning that sources of the army stated that more than 850 Palestinian rockets have been fired at Israeli sites, and that the Iron Dome missile shield was able to destroy only 310 of them, which means about 36% of the total number of the projectiles.

For its part, the live broadcast of Israeli TV channels has also repeatedly "exposed" the failures of this dome, as when Channel 2 had directly broadcasted, on Sunday evening and from an area where an anti-missile battery had been set up, the system's failure to intercept a resistance rocket which succeeded to hit its target.

The channel's reporter started justifying what happened saying that there are still some technical problems that must be overcome.

The "Yisrael Hayom" newspaper's figures, reported in its Monday edition, were different from Haaretz, but still the success rate of the Iron Dome anti-missiles system, according to Yisrael Hayom's figures, does not exceed the 54%.

Other Hebrew papers also pointed that a technical fault prevented running the Iron Dom system last Thursday, talking about the killing of three Israelis in Kiryat Malachi, when a missile fired by the Palestinian resistance succeeded to hit the ground.

The Yisrael Hayom newspaper added that the resistance rockets have largely damaged many areas.

It also reported that the Israeli entity uses today five batteries within the system of the Iron Dome, which is Israeli-made with U.S. financial support, noting that Israel is seeking to produce 13 other batteries and that the cost of a single battery reaches about $ 100 million.
