Palestinian captive's father dies shortly after release

The father of Palestinian captive Anwar Hareb died Thursday evening only a few moments after his son was released from an Israeli jail.

Family sources said that Anwar was informed about his father’s death just few minutes after his release from Negev jail late Thursday.

The funeral procession was stopped until the evening hours when Anwar reached the family home where he bid an emotional final farewell to his father, the sources added.

Anwar, the former mayor of Beit Awla town in al-Khalil, was released after spending 10 months in Negev prison as he was arrested on June 2014.
