Iranians penned most poems on Palestine
A special panel discussion was held inside the Quds News Agency (Qudsna) pavilion in the 20th Iranian Press Show in Tehran on Wednesday evening with the pro-Palestinian poetry in focus.
Iranian poet and author Mohammad Reza Sohrabinejad said pro-Palestinian and pro-resistance poetry in Iran received a large boost following the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979.
Sohrabinejad said Islamic Republic's late founder, Imam Khomeini motivated new trends in the pro-Palestinian poetry by his remarks about the significant of the occupied Quds ('Jerusalem') as the first Muslim Qibla and the point from where the Last messenger of Allah, Hadhrat Muhammad ascended to the heavens.
The poet said pro-Palestinian poetry was very popular among the Iranian poets, adding that Iranian poets have penned the largest content ever on Palestine in the world.
The Iranian poet then urged the Quds News Agency to compile the trove of poems made over Palestine since the advent of the Islamic Republic.
