Egypt could not steer clear of Palestine

An Iranian expert says no government in Egypt could not steer clear of the Palestinian issue, adding that an Egypt without Palestine would face dire time.

Mohammad Irani told Qudsna that any government to take the office in Egypt has to deal with the Palestinian issue as a major foreign policy concern.

The expert said the current situation in Egypt would not endure, adding that the Hamas movement has realized the reality and seeks to restore relations with Egypt. “The two sides need one another in the future,” he said.

The expert noted that certain groups are trying to prevent the two sides from restoring diplomatic relations.

“The PA head Abu Mazen is taking the largest benefit from the marred relations and wishes to see Egypt expanding relations with the PA,” the expert said, adding however that the situation would change soon.
