Major cleric says Israel should wait for another Intifada

Substitute Friday prayers leader of Tehran Ayatollah Ahmad Khatami here Friday said that the Zionists should wait for a new Intifada.

Addressing thousands of worshipers at Tehran University Campus, Ayatollah Khatami said, "Zionists should not doubt that they will gain nothing by their atrocities and they should wait for a new Intifada when Palestinians put them in a misery."

He said the human rights organizations have kept deadly silence against Israel's recent action. "Humanity should think on other ways to defend their rights."

Addressing Arab states, he questioned, "Why are you silent? Speaking from the standpoint of Islam, they kill your Muslim brethren and speaking from standpoint of Arab, they kill your Arab brothers." He hoped that the Organization of the Islamic Conference meeting next week will be effective in connection with the problem.

He also called on the OIC meeting's participants to cut economic ties with the countries insulting holy Prophet of Islam, Hazrat Mohammad (PBUH), and issue a statement in condemnation of the ongoing holocaust in the occupied Palestine and take concrete actions against the forged aggressive occupying regime.
