UNIFIL: Israel should stop air violations
The commander-in-chief of UNIFIL voiced concern over Zionist violations of Lebanese airspace, urging Zionist regime to halt the violations.
According to Press TV Bureau in Beirut, the Commander-in-Chief of UNIFIL General Claudio Graziano said that this is a breach of UN resolution No. 1701. The measure could as well intensify tension in southern Lebanon where UNIFIL is in charge of security and stability, he added.
Yasmina Bou Zian, the official spokesperson for UNIFIL, said, "The UN peacekeepers in south Lebanon are extremely concerned about the Israeli air sorties and have strongly protested against these violations of Lebanese airspace and reported them (to) the Security Council."
The Lebanese army reported that 12 Israeli fighter jets circled around the region and south Lebanon, Ya Libnan said Tuesday.
