90th Victim of Siege Dead in Gaza

 

Palestinian patients in need of treatment outside the Gaza Strip are increasing due to the inadequate health services available in the Strip, Khaled Radi, the public relations official in the PA health ministry announced.

 

He said in a press statement on Friday that medical assistance that entered the Strip after the opening of the Rafah crossing was not enough.

 

He said that hundreds of Palestinians were suffering form chronic diseases, many of them children, and were threatened with death.

 

Radi stressed that the world should not be deceived into believing that the siege on Gaza had ended, and underlined "We still need more assistance".

 

The health official was commenting on the death of the 90th victim of the Israeli siege of the Strip on Friday.

 

Medical sources said that Nadia Al-Omari, 28, has died after Israeli occupation forces refused to allow her to travel for treatment abroad.

 

On Thursday three others died of cancer and heart diseases including a 14-year-old child.
